| | As in other occasions, the teachers warmly welcome
us at the front. This center is a relatively new construction and shares
its dependences and the garden with other services of the neighborhood
where it is located. | |
| | They explain us its operation and its work methodology.
While they do so, some dossiers with images circulate and we consult them.
Looking at the images we understand they develop a very interesting job.
They work in projects and each theme is undertaken through plastic expression,
music, stories or experiences.
| | Our translator, Dolors Camarasa, follows attentively
the explanations. The welcome is fantastic, they have prepared us an afternoon
snack (although it is 3 in the afternoon)...
| | As in other occasions, we deliver a small present,
a reminder of our visit.
| | The productions of the children, very original and
of a great aesthetic value, fill up the walls of the school.
| | Natural materials are integrated in the school and
are used to build various objects and to decorate some spaces.
| | Materials, pictures and other elements carried out
by the children are used to create an original environment.
| | The computer’s corner. | |
| | The children’s dossiers are always at their reach,
kept in order in this shelve.
| | A corner of the materials’ warehouse. We also
observe the furniture, adapted to the children’s height and sizes.
| | Natural materials are combined with fabrics and other
objects to create attractive spaces.
| | Some simple cut-off sticks can become a decorative
element. | |
| | We also find spaces to rest and ready for intimacy.
In this case, an original corner created with branches and leaves.
| | Furniture, shelves and tenants allow for the creation of adapted spaces,
according to the different needs.
| | More ideas to work with, carried out outside the school. | |
| | In a quiet and relaxed environment the children keep
working in their projects.
| | Outside we also find groups of children, accompanied
by teachers, carrying out diverse activities.
| | The garden’s feature has been taken advantage
of to create several possibilities of play for the children.
| | The garden is very large and open to all the neighbourhood. | |
| | The works of art leave of the school for to be exposed in a public space. In the station Ruoholahti of the subway of Helsinki we find works of art carried out by the children and girls of this center. | |
